Mother Nature is the greatest teacher for us humans, however, most of us have detached ourselves from nature while pursuing a materialistic lifestyle.
Are you going with the flow of life or are you forcing yourself to go against the flow of life in order to achieve your dream life which is on the other side of the river of change? I’ll come back to this in a moment, let’s first look at the basics.
Yesterday I went for a night hike here in Norway and I realised again how much learning there is in nature that we don’t apply in our daily lives. Let me give you an example. What happens when we don’t achieve something or have problems in our lives? We tend to continue thinking about it producing stress. These thoughts produce emotions in our body that send chemicals to our bodies which will then produce a set of genes. All humans and animals are fine with experiencing certain levels of stress in their bodies, such as a Zebra being chased by a lion, but our bodies are not designed to feel stress for a long time without producing disease in our body.
So the difference is that a Zebra will shake out his stress and comes back to the moment once it comes back to his tribe. There is a science behind this which you can look up in the internet if you don’t believe me. The importance of this findings is the difference to us humans. We humans tend to stick with our mind to the past experience. If you’re asking yourself, whether you’re doing this, identify your thoughts you’re thinking after a certain event. If you keep thinking about it, you’re stuck in a vicious circle. Why?
By continuously thinking about a past experience, you’re conditioning your body to the hormones of stress. Your body will continue to crave these emotions in the future. Thus, you’re creating your future from the past and not from the future, hence, your outcomes in life will stay the same. Even worse: As our bodies are not made to sustain stress levels for a long time because we don’t shake the stress of and it’s stuck in our mind, the body will start to produce disease as an additional outcome. These findings are already scientifically proven in fields such as epigenetics and neuroscience.
In order to escape this vicious cycle, it’s key for us humans to return to the present moment and be conscious about what thoughts we’re thinking as they’ll clearly define our future. There are several steps to do this which I’d love to customise for you in a personal coaching session. But you can also try to change your pattern of thinking by moving your body through exercise, creating your own move which conditions your body to a different set of emotions or meditations.
In addition to that, it’s essential for us to look into what nature is trying to teach us every moment of our lives. Stress happens when something not meets our expectations. Our expectations are that life, our career, our relationships etc. will be a straight line upwards. But is there a straight line in nature? NO. Look at our heart rate. Is it a straight line? NO. Is nature constant? NO, it’s constantly changing and in evolution.
But I hardly see people trying to push their evolution. I see more the pattern of humans trying to have a stable life without changes, however, that’s not how life on this universe is meant to be.
The only straight line is one the road, right? There is no straight line in nature.
Embracing change and knowing that life is actually happening for us and not to us are two beliefs that are so key to live a fulfilled life. There is a higher power, some call it the universe or god, however you want to call it, that knows what’s best for us. How often did a bad experience in the beginning ended up to be the best in your life? Think about an example. Once you keep this perspective in life, you’ll see how much blessings there are in our lives as no problem is permanent, only our souls are permanent.
There is a higher power in nature that once you connect to it, it’ll provide you joy, energy and creativity. Some people get it by consuming certain plants, but I’m not talking about that although I’m sure that it’ll become more and more known in today’s world while the vibrations in our universe continue to go up (this is the field of spiral dynamics & quantum physics if you want to know more about this topic).
I’m talking about grounding yourself in nature (walking without shoes) and being in the moment observing nature, so meditating in nature. It’s funny as I used to laugh about these techniques myself several years ago and now I can feel the benefits of it in my daily life, also in business. So let’s be more open minded for new things if our current actions haven’t brought us to the place we’ve dreamed of in life.
The hike yesterday energised me and gave me so much gratitude for each moment, because nature is so beautiful once you actually realise it. There are no straight lines and when a duck wants to get to the other side of the river, it’ll go with the flow before arriving on the other side. Are you going with the flow of life or are you forcing yourself to go against the flow of life in order to achieve your dream life which is on the other side of the river of change? If you do so, I’m sure you’re feeling stressed and you know what outcome your mind will create. Let’s change that and work together on this! 🙂
