We all have wishes for our future. Some people only have needs, others have some goals and others have a clear vision for their dream life. I’ll come back to distinguishing between these in a moment…

These wishes don’t always become reality. Why? There are several dimensions we can could go into now, however, I’ll go deeper now on the influence of our environment. We all have heard the sentence: You become the average of your five best friends. And if you think this is just a saying, here is a quick exercise for you:

Sum up the salary of your five best friends, and divide it by 5. Is this amount similar to yours?

I bet it is. But it not only has an impact on our financial situation, although it’s a clear KPI that illustrates it to all of us. The less evident one is the impact on your psychology, your thoughts which ultimately become your feelings you feel throughout the day turning into your actions which lead to your results in life, f.ex. your salary.

Hence, our environment “helps” us create an identity of ourselves. This also happens subconsciously as we humans are run by our subconscious mind mostly, that’s why raising our consciousness is so important.

The big problem is that in order to create our dream life and achieve our goals, we have to go out of our old identity (relearn who we really are) and create a new one. Why? Your old actions will only lead to your old results. And this is why moving to a new city is so powerful.

Whenever we move to a new city, we are surrounded by a new environment which makes it easier for us to create a new identity without our old environment questioning us. The reason for this being so important is that we have a need for love & connection, thus, our family and friends questioning our own behaviour will most likely make us question ourselves as well, preventing our journey to our new identity.

I have lived this process very often. I moved with 17 years to Aschaffenburg, then to Dortmund, China, USA and now Oslo. Every time I moved again, I could make bigger changes in my identity, ultimately becoming who I really want to be. Embodying my dream life as it would be happening right now. And what happened?

I started attracting many components of my dream life f.ex. relationships, love, personal growth, impact, money and much more, making me a happy human being striving for my destiny. Moreover, I became more conscious about myself and the impact of my external environment on myself and my psychology which dictates the destiny of my life.

I believe that this is what we’re here for. Evolution. That’s what makes us happy. Evolution is much easier when we move into new environment. So would you move to a new city to get more momentum into achieving your dream life?

I’d be interested to know, shoot me a message on instagram http://www.instagram.com/chrisdiwo with your thoughts! 🙂

Cheers to this phenomenal life we get to live once!
