Do you know these moments when you’re on the verge of doing something? You’re thinking of doing something but something is holding you back and the situation gets kind of strange and slow? I guess we all know these moments… Let’s talk on how to identify them and what’s best to do.
Today I had two moments where I had the door of opportunities open, making me feel uncertain what to do. I’m not talking about a normal decision like “which burger should I take?”… Yes, some people make a big interesting game out of it but these are not decision where you have a feeling that your life can take a different route.
In order to distinguish them from normal choices, it is essential to mention the feeling of time. Whenever you have a moment where time feels different and world slows down… I had these several times: when the teacher asked in university who wants to do the role play on Chinese TV in front of the school, kissing a certain girl and I could go on and on. All these choices have a higher weight than only ordering a hotdog, hence, there is a difference in emotional feeling which also makes the time feel different.
And I bet we can all relate to the fact that time doesn’t also feel the same way… Being in a boring lecture or meeting vs. playing a fun game or joking around with your best friends certainly make time pass differently to your perception. The same is when you go into Theta state as for example in a meditation or a key moment in your life, however, this is a complete different topic for another post.
The perception is time is indeed one key component to identify a small moment that a decision can change your light. In addition to the emotional charge of the situation, another weird thing happened. In the exact moment I can feel one part of my brain making me want to take option A, which today was talking to a girl who was looking at me at the entrance and making me feel the positive outcome already happening; while also having the other part of my brain holding me back to my past and going with option B, which is not talking to her and regretting it.
It’s in these moments where our real self shines. It’s in this moment when we realise if we really have created the new identity though our “mental gym” activities, hence, our subconscious will not have enough power to pull us to our past where we were afraid to take action.
And I also believe that there is a spiritual side of this moment of decision. Sometimes we take the decision without fully understanding what we just did or what part of us made us believe that we can do it. It just happened and now we committed to something which however always turns out to be for us, not to us; a positive shift in our lives.
One example is the moment when my teacher asked in our class who wants to play a role in a role play and sing a song in front of the whole university and Chinese TV. I had no Chinese language skills except hello and bye at that moment, however, when my teacher asked I kind of had that inner feeling of being in a crucial moment where the door of opportunities is opening me to a new life. And now comes the spiritual aspect that there is something greater than us and that this is always happening for us. All of a sudden a friend in class screamed my name and 3-4 people said “yes teacher it’s Chris”… Before me being able to fully phrase a sentence the word “yes” came out of my mouth. I could not control this response.
Yes, it was subconscious. Same happens when you trigger someone and they start screaming at you, however, these are not subconscious decisions that are opening yourself to a better life. However, it is essential to have your identity shifted in a way that the subconscious mind is taking a decision that is benefiting your ideal future & not the past. PROBLEM: MOST PEOPLE HAVE THEIR IDENTITY FROM THE PAST, hence, your subconscious won’t take the right decision for you.
I had no idea why I had say yes in that moment, but I had the feeling that this will be a crucial moment of my life. In the next 3 weeks I worked my ass off in learning the text in Chinese while failing a lot along the way. I can tell this story in more detail about what happened before going to stage, however, the end was that I did the role play without a mistake and people were surprised by the performance… Why am I telling you this?
The reason for telling you that is that it ended up making me so happy and conscious about what a big potential I had. It raised my self-esteem in a crazy way. I felt like a new human being.
And all of this just happened because I entered the door of opportunity. Sometimes this door only opens for 10 seconds. And it’s all we got.
Doing our mental gym is exactly for these kind of moments! It’s about having that extra 2% energy that pushed your subconscious part of yourself forward and taking that uncomfortable decision which ultimately changes your life!
… ah, and before I forget to finish my previous story. I didn’t take the decision of speaking to the girl in front of the door… and I’m already regretting it. Because I have the feeling that it could have changed my life. But, in the end it’s every second where our life can change. Maybe this post changes your or my life as well?
Soooo, I hope these words can help you identify these crucial moments when the door of opportunity opens and give you enough evidence about why it is so important to work your mind out. It’s exactly for these crucial moment that we train our mind that we can push through our fear, go out of the comfort zone and achieve something that we have never done.
NEW LIFE COMING BABY!
